San Diego Railroad Museum

The San Diego Railroad Museum is located at State Highway 94, Forrest Gate Road, in Campo, 50 miles East of Downtown San Diego.

Operated by the Pacific Southwest Railway Museum Association, the San Diego Railroad Museum is a non profit organization which tries to preserve the railroads in the Pacific Southwest, a legacy for the future generations.

If you wish to travel both in time and place, the San Diego Railroad Museum invites you on a historic ride. You may choose one of our regular weekend train rides or monthly rides to Tecate, in Mexico. On the third Tuesday of each month are scheduled train rides for students and groups. On weekends, rides will start at the Campo Depot and for the locomotive cab rides reservations are required. You should arrive to the San Diego Railroad Museum at least 30 minutes before departure time.

The San Diego Railroad Museum is open to visitors on weekends from 9 am to 5 pm. Check out our historic steam and diesel locomotives, cabooses, passenger cars and freight cars and leave the present behind.
